Atalanta 3-0 Udinese
Atalanta continued their rise up the table at the expense of an Udinese side that looked well and truly out of steam in Bergamo.
Although Atalanta were on top from the early stages, Udinese had the best chance of the opening ten minutes, Antonio Floro Flores missing an incredibly simple chance ten minutes in after Simone Pepe’s excellent cross.
Nonetheless the nerazzurri took the lead ten minutes later through Jaime Valdes, who capitalised on good work from long-ball player Tiberio Guarente and forward Sergio Floccari.
Atalanta went from strength to strength after that, although they struggled to threaten Samir Handanovic’s goal too much heading into the second half.
The second half took a while to get going, and although Udinese had the ball in the net first Fabio Quagliarella’s effort was ruled out for offside.
Cristiano Doni then put the result beyond with a delightful goal twelve minutes from time, and ‘Bobo’ Guarente’s simple fubusg put the icing on the cake.
